Lauren LeBourgeois writes emotionally grounded love stories full of sharp humor, messy histories, and slow burns. Her stories explore how her characters’ pasts shape the way they move through the world.  Lauren writes for romantics, for the people who want to be, and those who don't know it yet, and almost always with a dog resting at her feet.

Lauren spent years practicing criminal defense and post-conviction law, where she advocated for just outcomes for her clients and heard some truly wild stories along the way. These days, she focuses on civil law matters, which tend to involve matters far less jaw-dropping— but every once in a while, something lands on her desk that’s strange enough to find its way into a future story.

Writing from her home in Virginia, Lauren is a mom, dog enthusiast, and owner of one exceptionally cheerful pony.
